Artist statement:
After studying design at Edinburgh College of Art then Fine Art at Duncan Jordanstone, Jennifer found a particular love for working with clay. She enjoys working with mediums which give the opportunity to tell a story or explore ideas and works mainly in a representational or figurative way. Jennifer also enjoys photography, film and bookmaking and often works where literature and words meet visual art. Most recently, she has been making work using a Mexican method called the Tree of Life . This was used by the Catholic Church to illustrate biblical stories to Mexican people unable to read. This involves making both functional and decorative work and which explored feelings and experiences during the lockdown. |
