Artist statement:
Katie is inspired by our constantly changing natural surroundings and her artwork, stationery, homeware and accessories all echo the layers of pattern, colour and tiny details she likes to get lost in, and help to bring a snapshot of nature indoors. A drawing is always the starting point for Katie - she enjoys capturing what she's spotted on her daily dog walks with her pencils and watercolours, using various techniques to recreate the chaos of the natural landscapes she's inspired by. The resulting pattern designs are then handmade by Katie into cushions, lampshades, scarves and more. |
