Kay’s sculptures originate from her time living in Shetland – where she was surrounded by vast colonies of sea birds and migrant birds – and have developed following visits to Skomer in Pembrokeshire and the Isle of May off the coast of Fife. Her sculptures are predominantly white stoneware with fine molochite, and she works in a range of firing and glazing techniques, including low-fired crackle glazes.
Currently living and working in Fife, Kay continues to work in ceramic, and also continues to develop her interest in printmaking techniques as a member of Fife Dunfermline Printmakers Workshop. Kay's other events:
