Artist Statement:
Keiko is inspired by her Japanese heritage, she creates handmade books that weave together memory, nature, and sustainability. She uses traditional washi paper left by her late mother, who practiced sumi-e, and Keiko makes her own natural inks from garden flowers and vegetable scraps. These gentle inks fade over time, and she embraces their impermanence as part of nature’s quiet rhythm - an expression of care and appreciation for the fleeting beauty of each moment. |
