Artist statement:
Lisa is a milliner, designing and creating unique hats and headwear by hand, using traditional millinery techniques, such as blocking, wiring, and hand stitching. She creates her own feather mounts, silk flowers and beadwork designs to finish pieces. Lisa works using a variety of millinery fabrics such as Sinamay, Wool Felt Caplines, Buntal and Silk Abaca to name a few. She is always looking to develop new skills and techniques studying under several accomplished millners. Lisa loves working with clients to create bespoke headpieces and has had her piece work worn to events such as Royal Ascot as well as on stage on screen. Lisa is passionate about the art of millinery and keen to pass her skills onto others and offers classes and online support to others starting out with millinery as a hobby. |
