Artist Statement:
Louise seeks beauty everywhere – the sandy beach, the crooked tree, the muddy marsh, thundery skies. Finding it in a quirky jaded vase, or a patterned jug, full of character and life. Louise strives to make that which is ordinary - through attention and care - into something beautiful, finding that unique colour or flash of light that will ignite joy. Billy Connolly described our glorious landscape as "a place where 'beautiful' isn't enough of a word". Louise hopes her work becomes a window into that beauty. Louise hopes you, the viewer, are transported, as she is in their making. |
