Artist Statement:
Micha is a retired Principal Teacher of Art and Design and local artist who makes bespoke, mixed media birds, figures and other decorative objects. She works with a range of materials which include modelling materials, papers, acrylics, fabrics, ribbon, braiding, beads, old jewellery, found objects etc. The techniques she employs are 3D modelling, papier-mâché and découpage, building up layers of colour, pattern and texture to create visual impact. She is inspired by folk art and different cultures from around the world. |
